Modifying Images


☞ Modify image means to make changes in the image such as image colour, transparency, brightness, crop or rotate an image.

☞ To make modification in images, there are five ways:

1. Using Image toolbar.
2. Cropping Images.
3. Resizing an Image.
4. Rotating an Image.
5. Deleting an Image.

Using Image Toolbar

☞To open Image toolbar, View → Toolbars → Image


☞ You will find various components on Image toolbar, let’s discuss about them:

  1. Filters: It provides various effects that can apply on image given below:
    • Invert: Invert the colour values of coloured image.  
    • Smooth: Soften the contrast of image.  
    • Sharpen: Increases the contrast of image.  
    • Remove Noise: Removes single pixels from image.  
    • Solarisation: Used in photographs to reverse the tone.  
    • Aging: Simulates the effect of time on picture.  
    • Posterise: Makes a picture appears like painting by reducing colours in the image.  
    • Charcoal sketch: Changes image as charcoal sketch.  
    • Relief: Adjusts light source to create shadow.  
    • Mosaic: Joins group of pixels into a single area of one colour.

  2. Image Mode: Images can be changed to black and white, grayscale or a watermark.
  3. Crop: Cuts off undesirable part of image.
  4. Flip Horizontally: Flips the image Horizontally by 180 degree.
  5. Flip Vertically: Flips the image Vertically by 180 degree.
  6. Rotate 90 degree left: Rotates the image by 90 left.
  7. Rotate 90 degree right: Rotates the image by 90 right.
  8. Rotate: Rotate the image by given angle.
  9. Transparency: It is used to increase or decrease the transparency of the image.
  10. Color: It is used to modify the individual RGB colour components of image.
